Juhi Parekh

Juhi Parekh is pursuing a Master of Environmental Management degree at the Yale School of the Environment, focusing her studies on the intersection of environmental justice and land and wildlife conservation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University. Before coming to Yale, Juhi worked as an Urban Park Ranger in New York City, leading environmental education programs, rescuing injured wildlife, and connecting the public to the natural world. As a Ranger, she prioritized conducting programs in previously underserved city areas and building positive relationships with local community members. Juhi also worked for the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks in Seattle, researching how wildlife damage impacted immigrant and refugee smallholder farmers to provide policy recommendations for equitable wildlife damage management. Her experiences in urban environments with BIPOC communities have inspired her commitment to equity and justice in wildlife and land conservation. At Yale School of the Environment, Juhi is a part of the Student Affairs Committee and works as a research assistant for the Alumni Office.
