Laurel Martinez

Laurel serves as the Western Lands Fellow for Western Resource Advocates, an organization focused on fighting climate change and its impacts to sustain the people of the West. Laurel earned her bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the University of Vermont. She has worked on several conservation and land management projects across the United States and abroad, but fell in love with New Mexico, where she earned a master’s degree in Biology from the University of New Mexico. Her research focuses on restoring streamside plant communities to inform effective management decisions. Laurel advocates for policies that protect habitat and connect the community to public lands.
