The Wyss Foundation is pleased to highlight a $2,300,000 grant to support the work of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a nonpartisan think tank that uses expertise in tax and budget issues to inform and shape policies that reduce poverty, promote equity, and build opportunity.
“Lingering inflation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic coupled with uncertainty around new economic policies is causing distress for many working families already living on the edge” said Molly McUsic, President of the Wyss Foundation. “Now more than ever, the Center’s work to ensure that everyone has the resources they need to thrive is vitally important, and we are proud to support this effort.”
“Extreme income and wealth inequality in the U.S. means that too many people struggle to afford and to access levers of opportunity that allow them to forge their own futures. This inequality is driven by policy choices that have benefited the nation’s largest corporations and wealthiest individuals while under-investing in people, families, and communities,” said Sharon Parrott, President of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. “The Wyss Foundation’s generous support is critical to our work to develop and promote policies that help more people afford housing, health care, food, childcare, and other basic needs, broaden opportunity, and build a more equitable and just economy.”
