Grant in the Spotlight: PeaceWomen Across the Globe

The Wyss Foundation is proud to support the vital mission of PeaceWomen Across the Globe (PWAG) as it seeks to connect women peace activists and grow their shared knowledge and promotes women’s participation in peace processes. This grant will contribute to PWAG’s effort to highlight the achievements of women working to create peace in the world.

PWAG focuses on strengthening links between women peace activists by providing them with practical tools to create and conduct sustainable projects for peace in fragile and conflict-affected countries such as Colombia, Nepal, Ukraine, Palestine and the Philippines. PWAG’s support includes documenting and promoting the achievements of women-led peace initiatives around the world.

“It is always exciting to see organizations that work to bring people together, share lessons learned and seek to empower,” said Molly McUsic, President of the Wyss Foundation. “The work that PeaceWomen Across the Globe has done and continues to do is inspiring.”

“When women’s knowledge and experiences are heard, peace processes are sustainable – only then, peace is possible,” PWAG’s founder and co-president Ruth-Gaby Vermot-Mangold states. “This is why – together with partner organizations – we organize Women’s Peace Tables worldwide where women’s painful experiences of violence and their needs for peace are at the core.”
