Grant in the Spotlight: Washington Center for Equitable Growth

The Wyss Foundation is pleased to announce a $1,200,000 grant to support the Washington Center for Equitable Growth’s efforts to advance fair policies that help bridge the economic divide and address systemic inequality in the United States.
The Washington Center for Equitable Growth promotes evidence-based research on pressing economic questions to advance strong, stable, and broad-based economic growth. It translates research and policy ideas into real-world solutions to address the most pressing issues facing the U.S. economy. This grant will assist the Washington Center for Equitable Growth in elevating equitable policies related to long-term structural changes in the market, tackle racial and gender wealth disparities, and help bridge the overall economic divide. Longstanding support from the Wyss Foundation continues to support the seeding and distribution of research findings on the most pressing issues facing the U.S. economy.
“The Covid pandemic exacerbated already-harmful structural inequities stretching back decades and often centuries. The urgent need for a shift in the national economic debate was clear. Thanks to the Wyss Foundation’s support, Equitable Growth was ready to meet the moment and provide an array of evidence-based policy recommendations so that the economic recovery could be more equitable,” said Michelle Holder, president and chief executive officer of the Washington Center for Economic Growth.
