(Washington, DC) June 4, 2021:  The Wyss Foundation is pleased to announce a grant of $2,500,000 to support the work of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP), a nonpartisan think tank that uses deep expertise in tax and budget issues to inform and shape policies that reduce poverty, promote equity, and build opportunity.

“The coronavirus pandemic has pushed many Americans already living on the edge into severe economic distress,” said Molly McUsic, President of the Wyss Foundation. “Now more than ever, CBPP’s advocacy for low-income people and communities is vitally important, and we are proud to support this effort.”

“The COVID-19 pandemic has both shined a light on and exacerbated economic and racial inequities,” said Sharon Parrott, President of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. “The Wyss Foundation’s generous contribution is critical to CBPP’s work to develop and promote policies that would reduce hardship among those most impacted by the health and economic crisis and help the nation build toward a more equitable and just recovery.
