Amishi Singh

University of montana - environmental studies

Amishi Singh grew up in central Texas where she became involved with voter mobilization and social justice organizing. Amishi received her bachelor’s from the University of Washington studying Environmental Science, where she discovered her love of conservation and water policy. Throughout her time, Amishi became interested in environmental policy and advocacy, and how scientific work generated in academic contexts is interpreted and applied in policy contexts. This led her to study Environmental Studies and Natural Resource Conflict Resolution with an emphasis in policy and justice at the University of Montana. Singh's thesis centers on the use of collaboratives as a tool for more adaptive conservation planning across the Western US.
