Yale university - school of the environment

Zane Weinberger is a Master of Forestry candidate at the Yale School of the Environment, where he focuses on public and private land management and conservation. Zane is originally from Nevada City, California, and now calls New England home. He earned an undergraduate degree in biology and studio art from Swarthmore College. After graduating, Zane worked as a Wildland Firefighter for the North Star Fire Crew, Chena Hotshots, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Truckee Hotshots. On the job, Zane observed how management decisions about the wildland-urban interface, especially near conservation areas, affect the land and its value to its inhabitants. He is currently an Apprentice Urban Forester with Urban Resources Initiative in New Haven, Connecticut.
