The Wyss Foundation is pleased to announce a $350,000 grant to the Swiss Institute, a contemporary art institution based in New York City.
The Swiss Institute seeks to explore how a Swiss context can be the starting point for international conversations in the fields of visual and performing arts, design, and architecture. The organization is dedicated to promoting forward thinking and experimental art through innovative exhibitions, programming, and education, available to the public free-of-charge.
“Support from the Wyss Foundation has been incredibly valuable to our organization,” said Stefanie Hessler, Director of the Swiss Institute. “This grant helps support the acquisition and renovation of a new building which will serve as the Institute’s first permanent home in forty years.”
“The Swiss Institute plays a vital role in promoting international contemporary art” said Molly McUsic, President of the Wyss Foundation. “We are excited for what the future has in store for the Institute as it begins work on its new exhibition space and headquarters.”
