Annie Miller ’23, Molly Ryan ’23, and Jane Jacoby ’23 have been named 2022 Wyss Scholars at Yale University. The prestigious Wyss Scholars program is sponsored by the Wyss Foundation and supports the graduate-level education of a new generations of leaders in U.S. land conservation.

The North Luangwa Conservation Programme, a partnership of Wyss Foundation grantee Frankfurt Zoological Society and the Zambian Department of National Parks and Wildlife, began reintroducing black rhinos to Zambia in 2003 and, over the ensuing two decades, has successfully established a breeding population in North Luangwa National Park. Since 2015, the Wyss Foundation has helped support this work by providing nearly $6.2 million to sustain Frankfurt Zoological Society’s co-management of North Luangwa and promote the conservation of black rhinos.

Yazhmin Dozal and Sarah Colombo, both master’s degree students in environmental science and policy at Northern Arizona University, have been named 2022 Wyss Scholars. This conservation leadership program is unique in that it provides financial support to students both during their graduate studies and through their early conservation careers.

Stephanie Barron, Gardner Dee, Malcolm Gilbert, and Allison Monroe have been named as the 2022 Wyss Scholars at the University of Montana. The Wyss Scholars Program, funded by the Wyss Foundation, provides financial support to students who are committed to careers in U.S. land conservation.

Sophie Daudon, Francesca Governali, Lauren Ashley Week, and Joel Weltzien have been named as the 2022 Wyss Scholars at the University of Michigan. Students were selected from the School for Environment and Sustainability and the Law School.
